In National Institutional Ranking Framework 2024,released by Ministry of Education, Jammu University makes a place in top 50 universities, making a jump of 13 points from 63 in 2023 to 50 in 2024. University of Kashmir also ranks 45, making it for the very first time that both of the state universities find mention in the top 50 universities and top 100 institutions across the country.
In the overall rankings, Kashmir University secured 69th and Jammu University 87th rank While Jammu University has scored a spot for the very first time in top 50, Kashmir University dropped its rank from 33 to 45 in universities category.The other institutes from J&K which also made a place in NIRF rankings include Skuast Jammu, Skuast Kashmir, IIT Jammu,IIM Jammu,NIT Srinagar and SMVDU Katra in their respective categories.
Skuast Kashmir has secured 10th place with 60.04 points and Skuast Jammu has secured 20th with 53.91 points.IIM Jammu ranks 42nd in the management category.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha who is the chancellor of Jammu University extended hearfelt congratulations for Prof. Umesh Rai, Vice Chancellor, Jammu University for featuring in the top 50 universities. Lieutenant Governor also extended congratulations to the heads of Skuast-J, Skuast-K,IIT Jammu, IIM Jammu, NIT Srinagar and SMVDU Katra for their outstanding performance in their categories in NIRF Rankings 2024.
