The supreme court’s deadline for elections in the Jammu and Kashmir legislative assembly is approaching near.
Chief Election Commissioner , Rajiv Kumar with his team met various stakeholders,political parties, chiefs of security forces, top level bureaucracy for assessment of operational preparedness for the upcoming assembly polls.
Administration of UT of J&K headed by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has also indicated the readiness to go for assembly polls.
J&K has seen a record voter turnout during the General Elections 2024 and the increase in voter turnout from the Kashmir Valley indicates a strong belief in the democatic process.
Election Commission and UT administration wants to benefit from the gains in the increased voter turnout to make the assembly elections more inclusive.
The time is ripe and the aspirations of people being high, everyone in J&K waits eagerly for the dates to be announced.
